Microwave cinnamon apple cubes.

50 kcal per apple.

Recipe:

Cut 1 apple into thin slices/small cubes.

Put into bowl and add water until about 1/4th of the slices/cubes are under water.

add 1/4 tsp sweetener, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and a dash of vanilla extract.

Nuke for about 2:30.

Drain the water.

Done. Easy as that.

My opinion on this:

Difficulty:

★ ★

Cubing the apple takes a while, but other than that it's pretty easy.

Taste:

★ ★ ★ ★

It tasted like a hundred mini apple pies.

Which is amazing.

Next time I'll use more vanilla though, but that's just my preference.

You gotta figure out what works for you.

Maybe add a few raisins...hmm.

Serving size:

★ ★ ★

It's an apple.

The serving size is literally one apple's worth of food.

You want more food, use more apples.

More apples means more calories, but since one apple is only about 50 kcal,

doubling (or tripling) the recipe to make a 100 (or 150) kcal 'meal' is acceptable.

I only had one apple on me since the recipe said one apple.

Now I regret not bringing more apples to work with me.

Hindsight is always 20/20, right?

I have to admit though, maybe because it took me longer to eat it or

because it was warm or whatever, but this filled me up just a tiny little bit more

than if I'd just skinned and eaten an apple raw.

Psychology, I guess, not my strong point.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I made this again, only this time using three medium-sized apples (about 150 kcal) and one or two handfuls of raisins (about 120 kcal).

That turned it from a 50 kcal snack into a 270 kcal MASSIVE meal.

As you can see, that can't really be called a 'snack' anymore.

And if it's a meal, those 270 kcal become more acceptable.

You could put in less raisins (or just no raisins at all) since I found out they don't do

all that much for the taste.

It makes it a little sweeter, but then again, you could just add more sweetener,

which is 0 kcal and not 120.

If you are going to put in the raisins, remember to microwave the apple first,

pour out the water and then put in the raisins,

because microwaved raisins get extremely slimy and gross

(I made that mistake one too many times myself and then I'd had to throw away the entire meal, because the slimy stuff just sticks to EVERYTHING and NOTHING is edible anymore).

So yeah, microwave the apples first, THEN add the raisins.
